"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."

Integrated Intelligence

The Power of Knowledge Transforming Data and Information into Knowledge and Actionable Intelligence

In today’s pervasively digital environment, government agencies and corporations, both large and small, are increasingly recognizing the pivotal importance of transforming the overwhelming tsunami of data from almost countless disconnected and disparate sources into one seamless and integrated resource. However, it is a rare enterprise that can capture, analyze and redeploy it’s accumulated digital assets to assist in making strategic decisions and actually drive performance. To gain greater insight and transparency, organizations urgently require a new generation of intelligence tools and applications that will allow cross-enterprise, inter-enterprise and external data to be integrated and analyzed in a single, unified data-model. Mitopia® is that game-changing tool. Knowledge is discovered in the connections between disparate data sources. Mitopia’s® unified data model changes the paradigm in ways that other technologies competing in the “Big Data”, intelligence, or general AI domains can only keep pace with through the involvement of humans. Mitopia’s quantum leap towards automated Intelligence yields a brand new set of solutions.

“The problem we face today is too much information on too many potentially interconnected subjects to make sense of in too short a time.”

Sir Winston Churchill

The Big Data Problem

The world today is plagued with questions with no apparent answers, problems with no obvious solutions and threats with no discernible warnings. Each problem; each challenge has it’s own subset of issues, it’s own domain characteristics and can be looked at and approached from different perspectives, but they all have one thing in common...... massive amounts of disparate data that is inextricably interconnected in the real world, but hopelessly siloed in the digital world. If we can find, identify or predict which connections are related to a particular challenge or relevant within a certain domain, our understanding and, hence, the likelihood of solving that problem is immeasurably enhanced. A fresh and unique approach to the problem along with superior technology gives Mitopia Technologies, Inc. a clear advantage when it comes to making these connections and delivering a higher grade of standardized and customized intelligence to our partners. Until now, making the connections between disparate data sources has only been accomplished by humans. Mitopia® changes this limitation. Mitopia® finds these connection for human evaluation.

The Solution

The solution is....... A System of Systems. One unified repository for all the disparate data residing in a multitude of sub-systems. A data model that does not rely on limited and outdated information level databases, but allows for every imaginable variance of digital format and language to be translated into a single completely interconnected whole. Traditionally, once an intelligence system is deemed necessary, the requirements written, the development complete and the system deployed, the world has changed along with the types and formats of the data available and/or required to achieve the original goals and objectives. The inevitable results of traditional software development are compartmentalized systems incapable of accomplishing the goal of pure data integration and a technology which requires massive modification to adapt to changing events. Having overcome these crucial challenges, our technology completely integrates any number of disparate data sources and can adapt to changing circumstances and changing requirements almost immediately without writing a single line of new code. It is our belief that no other technology can make either of these claims.

Data Integration

Typically, even the most evolved organizations store and utilize their data in and from isolated silos. Each and every one of these systems and the data stored in them is essential and, when used correctly, valuable but, by themselves, they fail to give a complete picture of any organization historically, currently or predictively. Even the largest technology companies and service providers in the world cannot hide the fact that the solutions they propose and provide to the “Big Data” problem are siloed. In other words, they are cobbling together separate and inherently different technologies to provide the best solution they can muster. They aggregate vs integrate data. They visualize vs connect data. They use human beings to organize “meta data” in attempts to give the illusion of integration. This approach will never succeed in solving today’s critical knowledge level questions or complex decision cycle challenges. Mitopia® fuses all these disparate data sources into one unified interconnected whole giving analysts and decision makers the ability to pose complex knowledge level questions and queries to this integrated resource. Mitopia® is the first and so far only distributed cognitive data model capable of automated connection discovery and unification without limits.

Adapting to Change

Change is the only constant in life and in the intelligence domain and the pace of change is increasing exponentially every day. Traditional software systems are constrained by relational database capabilities, designed with specific information level, predetermined inputs and outputs and limited by the mentality the this is the only way to attack this existential problem. Perhaps the greatest advantage Mitopia® enjoys in this space is adaptability. We have developed an architecture as opposed to an application; an adaptable, antifragile, non-relational architecture that can easily be configured to address and solve complex new problems with massive domain specific data sets without writing one additional line of core architectural code. This not only enables us to enter and conquer new domains, attract and accommodate new customers with no additional development, but also allows us to adapt the the constantly changing needs of existing customers.

The Definition of Incommensurability:
"This is the idea that, in the course of a revolution and paradigm shift, the new ideas and assertions cannot be strictly compared to the old ones. Even if the same words are in use, their very meaning has changed.”

Thomas Kuhn

Mitopia®, A New Paradigm in Intelligence Technology

The “ Big Data” community continues to function in crisis mode. There is a pressing need to extract timely intelligence from diverse and massive data, but the standard methodologies employed are inadequate and have not resulted in a solution. The most significant challenges are the timely integration and rapid extraction of actionable intelligence from these massive and changing data sets. The only explanation for the continued inability to solve this challenge is that the methods being refined, that is, the existing paradigms for a solution, are ineffective. No amount of normal refinement or incremental improvement taken to solve the issues associated with this challenge ever produces the desired result. Instead, the complexity and cost continue to increase as the community continues it’s attempt at an incremental scientific march towards solutions. A more effective capability is required, but has not been able to address the entire challenge. Instead, various patchwork partial solutions are attempted using existing methods. Over the past twenty-eight years Mitopia Technologies, has developed a unique technology that shatters the current paradigms of what is possible with respect to rapidly extracting actionable knowledge from massive, disparate and dynamically changing data sets. This totally new but mature framework has resulted in a configurable architecture supported by 14 patents that completely re-thinks solution approaches to the entire class of big data challenges faced today. The product, Mitopia®, is a true knowledge level capability that is designed to rapidly ingest multiple data sets of any format into a Unified Data Model. The data within Mitopia® is held natively in this unified form, and since that underlying data model is a cognitive ontology, links are an intrinsic part of that data in a way not possible with an information level substrate (e.g., RDBMS or even lower). Our technology is designed to perform far more complex functions than simply processing connections between words. It is capable of processing connections between actual data held, accessed, and described cognitively. Mitopia®’s Cognitive Ontology gives it the unprecedented ability to compute on the actual connections and this is accomplished natively. Mitopia® is an architecture that must be configured or “educated” to the particular challenge of interest and once configured provides the analyst with a viewpoint not currently possible with existing technology. We have explored, through white papers and briefing packages this process for potential big data intelligence challenges in medical, defense and law enforcement. However, Mitopia® is very different from current methods, so different in fact, that it challenges some of the fundamental approaches of the big data community and re-defines what is possible. Its acceptance therefore has been limited simply because many cannot believe that an elegant knowledge level architecture at this stage of maturity is possible.
